Applying for Housing

FAMILY Housing (Unfurnished)

Only students who plan to live full-time with a spouse, domestic partner, and/or children are eligible to live in FAMILY housing.

Tenth and Home Building A will be closed for Summer 2024. All residents are required to move out of Tenth and Home Building A. All residents in one-bedroom apartments will be required to move out of the one-bedroom apartments in Tenth and Home Building B as well.

One-bedroom, furnished or unfurnished, apartments will not be available for Summer 2024.

To apply for on-campus housing for Summer 2024 and the 2024-2025 Academic Year, complete the housing application by selecting the FAMILY tab at My Housing when it opens in mid-February. Only students who plan to live full-time with a spouse, domestic partner, and/or children should complete the FAMILY housing application.

Family Housing students will be eligible to self-assign to any available unfurnished one or two-bedroom apartment for the 2024-25 Academic Year. The application and room assignment processes are two separate steps:

  1. All current residents applying for Family Housing can apply for on-campus FAMILY housing beginning February 8. The housing application process is first come-first, first-served, and on-campus housing is limited. We will turn on the waitlist once we reach capacity. No student is guaranteed housing.
  2. Students who are NOT on the waitlist when self-assign begins in early March will receive a time-ticket to choose their room. The order in which current students select a room is based on student level (Ph.D. or Masters) and number of credit hours earned at GT. For example, a Ph.D. student with 20 graduate credit hours earned at GT will have an earlier time-ticket to select their room than a Ph.D. student with 15 credit hours earned at GT or a master's student with 25 graduate credit hours earned at GT.

Students will not self-assign for Summer 2024.

Project Goals & Timeline

In addition to providing a necessary refresh to Tenth and Home (TAH) spaces, this project supports community development by co-locating residents with families and single graduate residents and improves the student experience by providing more flexibility for residents.

Spring 2023: The Housing and Residence Life team announced initial plans to furnish many of the unfurnished spaces in Tenth and Home A over Summer 2023, and extended the timeline after receiving feedback that current residents needed more time to either complete their graduate work or make arrangements for their furniture over the next year.

Summer 2023: Summer 2023, the Housing and Residence Life team refreshed and furnished 21 rooms in TAH A.

Spring 2024: Residents will apply for next year’s housing following the instructions on the left side of this page. Please note that while TAH A is unavailable for Summer 2024, there are furnished, two-bedroom, shared apartments available for single graduate students.

Summer 2024: Housing and Residence Life will furnish 75 more apartments. To complete this work, TAHA will completely close down for the summer. All TAHA and 5 TAHB residents will need to move out at the end of the academic-year contract in May 2024.
