Welcome new Yellow Jackets! We are buzzing with excitement to have you as part of our campus and residential community. We know that exploring your housing options is an important part of deciding to come to Georgia Tech - find links below for information on how Housing & Residence Life facilities and our team can make Georgia Tech not just a campus, but a home for you!

Application Guide

Check-out the Application Guides for step-by-step instructions including screen shots of the Housing application. The housing application process and timeline for students who are new to Georgia Tech are different than they are for returning students. First-year, new transfer, and new graduate students have unique admission timelines that impact when you can apply for housing. Mostly importantly, all incoming students must be full admitted and commit to Georgia Tech by paying the Admission Deposit before access is granted to My Housing.

Please remember that housing is not required and not guaranteed for any student.

Applying for Housing

Step 1: Complete the application by signing the Housing Contract in the My Housing Portal

  • You must electronically sign the Housing Contract and submit your Housing Application to secure housing. Note - if you are under 18 years old at the time of application, a parent, guardian, or guarantor must sign your housing contract to complete the application.

Step 2: Roommate and Room Selection

  • Select a Roommate
  • Select a Room
    • Room selection numbers are assigned in the order applications are completed. The earlier you apply, the more options you’ll have.

Step 3: Room Swap

  • Room Swap
    • A room swap means two students agree to switch rooms and perform the swap online themselves.

In some cases, it can take up to 12 weeks during peak admission times.

For those interested in living in general on-campus housing for spring semester:

Step 1: Students must be fully admitted to GT before access is granted to the housing application.

Step 2: Apply for Spring Semester housing via My Housing. Please note that you cannot apply for GT Housing unless you have been admitted to Georgia Tech. Students will be assigned a space as available.
