Laundry machines.

Residents should follow the instructions below. Residents can also check machine availability in advance using the LaundryView website

Steps

Washers

  1. Load your laundry into the machine of your choice.
  2. Add your detergent, etc. and select your wash cycle on the machine.  
  3. Hit start on the washer.
  4. Leave the machine door open after you're finished, allowing it to air out.

Dryers

  1. Load your laundry into the machine of your choice.
  2. Clean out the lint trap before each dryer load. This leads to faster drying and prevents fire safety issues!
  3. Select your drying cycle on the machine.
  4. Hit start on the dryer.
  5. Leave the machine door open after you're finished, allowing it to air out.

Machine Issues?

If you encounter a laundry machine that is not working, please submit a Housing Help Desk ticket and include: 

  1. the code on the machine, which consists of 3 letters and 3 numbers (ex. xxx-123)
  2. the laundry room building name

Do not submit a work order in My Housing. For urgent issues after hours, call your RA on duty.

Sustainability Tips for Laundry

  • Wash only full loads of laundry to save water, time, and money. 
  • Wash all your laundry in cold water. 
  • Choose clothing with natural fibers to avoid microplastics in our rivers and other water systems.
  • Select sustainable laundry brands and buy in bulk where possible.
  • Air dry your clothing when feasible.
