Gender Inclusive Housing
At Georgia Tech, students can choose Gender Inclusive Housing in their housing application, allowing them to live with roommates of any gender. This option includes sharing a bathroom with other Gender Inclusive Housing residents. Most traditional halls have single-gender floors, but the buildings are co-ed, and all first-year residence halls are co-ed by building, except Fulmer Hall.
The First-Year Wellness Experience (FYWE) is designed to support the personal, academic, and professional growth of first-year students by fostering a strong first-year cohort that centers well-being. This comprehensive program focuses on all eight dimensions of wellness—financial, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and occupational—ensuring a holistic approach to first-year engagement.
The Transfer-Year Experience Program is a self-selected living option offered to help new transfer residents access the services and resources that are relevant to their current needs. The program focuses on three broad areas including academic and personal achievement, future and career planning skills, and well-being.
First-Year students admitted to Georgia Tech can apply to Explore, Global Leadership, Grand Challenges, the Honors Program Living Learning Communities, First-Year Semester Abroad and the Ignite Summer Launch Program. Transfer students are invited to apply to the Honors Program and Explore Living Learning Communities. All communities offer opportunities to explore an interest through experiential and academic programming while residing with other students who share that interest.
Beginning in their second year, students are invited to apply to the Women, Science, and Technology (WST) and the International House (I-House) Living Learning Communities. These communities require students to live in program specific residence halls, participate in community activities and events, and offer optional coursework.
