New First-Year Students

Applying to Georgia Tech housing as a first-time resident is designed to be a seamless experience. The process includes completing the online application, selecting your preferred housing options, and meeting key deadlines. It’s important to note that housing is not assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, all students who apply by June 30 will receive a random room selection time ticket.

New Transfer Students

Housing and Residence Life does reserve bed spaces for admitted transfer students; however, applicants will participate in a housing lottery to determine if they will receive housing for the academic year. To be eligible for the academic year lottery, students must apply by June 30. This system ensures that all transfer students have an equal opportunity to secure housing in our community. Transfer students applying for the summer semester or spring only housing will apply first come, first served

New Graduate Students

Once graduate students are admitted to Georgia Tech by their academic program and fully processed by Graduate Admissions, they can begin the housing application process. Graduate students must apply by May 30 to be eligible for the housing lottery for academic year housing. Starting in Academic Year 2025-2026, graduate residents are limited to one academic year contract and one summer contract of on-campus housing. Graduate students planning to live with a spouse/domestic partner/child(ren), should visit the Family Residents Overview page (Link).
