Find a Roommate (or Don't!)
At Georgia Tech, you have the flexibility to either select a roommate or opt for a random assignment. If you have a friend or someone you know you’d like to live with, you can request to room together. Alternatively, if you’re open to meeting new people, you can go with a random roommate assignment, which can be a great way to make new friends and broaden your social circle.
Select Your Room
Students who apply by the designated deadline(s) will receive a Room Selection Number and a specific time slot to self-assign to a room. This process allows you to choose your preferred living space based on availability. At your assigned time, simply follow the provided steps to complete your room assignment.
Room Swap
Residents are permitted to room swap to find another available space on campus ahead of the published room swap deadlines. Prior to move-in, room/apartment changes can be made and/or requested online at My Housing. After move-in, room/apartment changes require authorization from the appropriate hall director.
Prepare for Move-In
Once you’ve connected with your roommates and selected your room, it’s time to start preparing for move-in day! Begin by reviewing the list of items you’ll need to bring and items that you should leave at home. It’s also important to familiarize yourself with the move-in process, including key dates, check-in procedures, and any specific guidelines.
