Move-Out
Students are encouraged to move-out 24 hours after their last final. Residents are required to move-out no later than:
- Friday, December 12, 2025, by noon: Non-graduating residents
- Sunday, December 14, 2025, by noon: Graduating residents
Check your email and My Housing for instructions for preparing your room, check-out, and other details.
Transition to Spring Housing
Current fall residents with a new Spring 2026 booking will transition on Tuesday, December 16. You will complete a self-service process to check-out of your fall assignment and check-in to your spring assignment. Check your email for details.
- Residents transitioning to a spring room will receive a transition appointment in My Housing.
- You are transitioning from one electronic lock space to another, so you are able to self check-out and self check-in, also known as self-service. If at any point you have any questions, please visit your area office and they can assist you.
- To complete the self-service process please follow these steps:
- Login to My Housing
- Once you arrive on the Landing Page, click Save & Continue
- You will be directed to a Fee Acknowledgement page, please read the note in its entirety before clicking Continue.
- On the Self Check-Out page, review the information and select your Spring 2026 contract.
- To acknowledge that you have completed your transition check the box and click Save & Continue.
- This is your Check-in Confirmation, keep this handy to verify that you have checked out of your fall assignment and into your spring assignment.
We will have bins to assist on this day.
Bin Check-Out
Bins will be available to residents to check out to assist with move-out. Residents should return their bin to the same location as quickly as possible to allow others to use it – we cannot guarantee bins will be available if they are not returned promptly.

All bedspaces with electronic locks and digital keys will complete self-check out.
Check-out Deadline and Self Check-out
All residents will have a check-out deadline, this will appear as a half-hour window at My Housing. Once you have removed all belongings from your bedspace, you can complete self check-out during your check-out deadline. You can change your check-out deadline until December 12.

- Log in to My Housing and follow the link for Self Check-Out Process.
- Once you arrive to the Landing Page click “Continue”.
- Your current contract (Academic Year 2025-26) will appear, click “Select”.
- Confirm Checkout – You will enter your GTID and click “Complete Checkout”.
- Confirmation – click “Save & Continue”.
Donation
Looking to put your reusable items to good use instead of the dumpster before moving out? In addition to your local non-profits, there are several places on campus that will accept your donations.
- The Kendeda Building’s Revolving Clothing Closet gives a second life to any clothing you want to part with.
- Klemis Kitchens will ensure your unopened food items get to fellow Yellow Jackets in need.
- The Green Goodbyes Thrift Store gives household items that students may want to take with them when moving out of their dorm rooms or apartments new life. Residents can drop off their donations at the GT Connector, Old Gold in North Avenue, GLC Lobby, and LLC West Commons in Curran.
Storage
Check the link below to see a list of storage companies provided as a courtesy to Georgia Tech students’ since Housing and Residence Life does not offer any storage options. Georgia Tech is not a party to any storage facility agreements and is not a partner, agent, employee, independent contractor, or subcontractor for any company or leaser providing storage.
Bicycle Removal
All students in Georgia Tech Housing will need to secure bikes during any break period.
Any bikes or other Personal Mobility Devices left in residence hall bike rooms & racks that are not registered with the Georgia Tech Police Department will be deemed abandoned. When you leave for break, we strongly encourage you to take your bike with you if possible. If you remain on campus during the break, we recommend you store your Personal Mobility Device securely in a bike room.
Official Check Out According to Your Contract
Excerpt IX, B. OFFICIAL CHECK OUT – A Student is not officially checked out of the residence hall/apartment until all of the following occur:
(1) The Student has removed all personal property from the premises (property deemed abandoned in the sole discretion of Georgia Institute of Technology Housing will be discarded at the expense of the Student);
(2) the room/apartment has been cleaned by the Student; and
(3) the proper check out records and keys have been returned to Georgia Institute of Technology’s Housing Staff.
Failure to meet the above will result in extra charges and a “Hold” placed on the students account and will remain in force until all terms and conditions of this Contract are met.
