Communication

To get the most out of your residential experience, you need a lot of information from and about Housing and Residence Life. We do our best to share that information in a timely manner, and use different methods depending on the case. Below you'll find information about what kinds of communication you can expect from us. 

Text Messages

In an effort to make our communication more accessible to residents, Housing and Residence Life has begun sending text messages about important updates or exciting opportunities. Additionally, we will message residents in the event of a facility emergency in their hall (fire, gas leak, etc.) 

  • Not receiving our texts? We can only send messages to U.S. based phone numbers. If you’d like to provide a more accurate number for us to message, please fill out this form.

Emails

We try our best to email residents only when there is valuable information to share. Residents should look out for our emails, particularly those regarding: 

All email communications will be sent to a student’s official Georgia Tech email address, except for recently accepted students who have yet to receive their campus email address. In those cases, we will email the address included on a student’s housing application. 

Housing Help Desk

Have a question about campus housing? Ask the Housing Help Desk – our searchable FAQ database that includes information about applying, move-in, maintenance issues, and more. Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? The Housing Help Desk allows you to submit an inquiry that will get you an answer and help us create more knowledge articles that other students may also find useful.  

  • Start by searching for answers using any keywords in the search bar.  

  • If you don't see the answer you’re looking for, you can “submit a request” by following the link on the top-right of the page and filling out the form that appears. You will receive a response from us through email. We’ll also use your inquiry to create new knowledge articles to help others in future.

My Housing Portal

The My Housing portal is where you can complete the housing application and other forms, view messages related to your housing, and edit personal information as needed.  

  • Most emails related to your housing assignment will also appear as messages in your portal.
